Social Media Sharing Practices

I really hope this is in the right forum, what I am curious about is this: when I upload, should I share it on all my social media platforms the same day, or what I was thinking was, first day shareo n facebook, next day share on twitter , next share on g+, that way each day it's hopefully getting exposure on each site and building it up. I can see both ways being good, but staggering the shares like I am suggesting I think could help get a more even and drawn out exposure time, am I thinking wrong or am I onto something here?

Any advice is appreciated.

My opinion is to share on all social media platforms at the same time. That way you cannot be accused of being repetitive as many of your followers will be viewing your content on each site. I believe sharing content on different days will not help increase exposure. Alternatively, I would re-post one - two months to increase exposure of old videos for new followers.

I've moved this to the Strategy / Technique advice forum. The YTtalk help forum is for forum-specific help threads.

The first 48 hours of a video's life are the absolute most important. How many views and comments and engagements it receives in the first 48 hours shapes how the algorithm promotes your video going forward. In light of that, it's important to get as many views as you can as fast as you can, so I always post to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Reddit within minutes of the video going live. I usually get 2,000 - 3,000 views within those first 48 hours, then it falls flat for a few days and about a week later, YouTube starts heavily promoting it again and those views double or triple within the month.

I've been totally wondering the same thing. I usually post to my personal Facebook page (So my friends can watch the video), my business Facebook page, Google+, and Twitter all on the same day as soon as I can get the posts created. So It seems like I'm following all of the cool advice given here in this thread, which is great!

I think I'm also gonna start posting links to the videos on my website too since it never hurts to increase my exposure.

Thanks for the great question buildguy! It's helped me know that I may be at least doing one thing right. :).

Later my cool dudes! :).
