So Vidcon...

YTTALK Panty Thief
Are you there? Are you still arriving? Do you have anything planned as to what you want to do there? What panels and people are you looking forward to meeting? What are some of the purposes and interests that have led you to the event?

So I haven't seen a VidCon thread like this for the event and figured I'd just make a post. Feel free to post what thoughts you have on the event whether or not you are attending. I'd also love to see vlogs and such from those of you attending and also stories. I'll check back in a couple of hours for some replies but here are my thoughts in case any of you care:

First off, I'm not attending. From what I have noticed these past few years there are mostly Vloggers and this year there seems to be a whole hell load of em on the Special Guest list. I'm more into the gaming side of YouTube (and no iJustine does not count as a Gamer lulz) and about the only gamer person I would be interested In meeting would be Boogie2988. I would also like to see Burnie Burns and Freddie Wong. If I had friends who were into YouTube as much as I am I wouldn't mind taking the half hour trip down to Anaheim If someone were able to get me in free because I don't have to pay to use YouTube, why the hell would I pay to walk around a convention to possibly meet two or three other YouTubers I watch? LOL. Anyway, I'm sure there are those of you with Channels who are there today with different purposes and interests than I and I would be interested in seeing a vlog of the event from those of you attending whether before or after or even LIVE.

Id love to go for the experience maybe in a year or two :P who knows
looks like fun and I've always wanted to visit america

do people go with business cards and hand them to people there?
i've seen some vloggers getting some for it and didn't know it was a thing

Yeah I don't know about that. I've actually never heard of it. Seems like a shameless plug though, walking up to other YouTubers and trying to hand out business cards with your channel name. To me that would be considered real life spam which is the equivalent of YouTube spam LMAO.[DOUBLEPOST=1403808061,1403807950][/DOUBLEPOST]Seriously though. If I was a YouTuber with say 300,00 subscribers and a decent viewing audience I would probably have a fan meet up towards the end of the day for everyday I attended as well as maybe get a picture with my YouTube buddies and others who wanted to meet me. I can't really think of too many other reasons to attend or what I would do while there.

While i am only 2 hours away from vidcon i alas will not be going this year, Hopefully next year though if my channel gets a little bigger. Anyway i would love to go to vidcon and I really wanted to go last year but I didn't even start my channel back then. If i did any promotion towards my channel id just make a vidcon sweat shirt with my URL on the back.

Nice. Very subtle and clever way to promote yourself. Beats spamming people with business cards LMAO.

I wont be attending myself, I want to go eventually but I would want going to be part of a holiday for say two three weeks so I am not just visiting the USA for the event. I dont see much point for me going at the moment unless I was to purchase a table for YTtalk and host a YTtalk meet up there and try and get the word out about the forums some more.

I consider YTtalk to be similar to an all year round VidCon myself :)

I want to host an event in the UK for YTtalk members at some point perhaps a small meet up at SITC at some point as I hear its largely fan girls, having YTtalk there could help add some thing to it and make it more enjoyable for those who dont like the screaming crowds and just want to network and meet the creators they have met already :D

sounds like a great idea and SITC is more accessible for more countries so makes sense
Would definitely be good to get more creators there
I plan on going to the next one but im scared it will just be fans
