So is One Channel here to stay?

It's a rare thing to see the staff behind YouTube deciding on a single layout for good. I remember the period where we had atleast one per year.

But they were almost like Facebook 1-2 years ago. Changing way too frequently.
That's a turn off for users.

I think they had to, Cosmic Panda was like Windows Vista, One channel is like Windows 7 and the pre-Cosmic Panda layout is like XP

i hate it personally, before they introduced it we had our very own page which was entirely customised by us. It felt like ours. Now we get a few inches to express ourselves on Youtube outside of our videos. The whole point of it is so our channel art works on all devices but unless you design it perfectly something on there is always going to get cut on different sized monitors, phones & tablets. They even give us the option to upload our channel art as a GIF and then took it away. Seems to me they make up an idea and go with without actually thinking about it.

It's much easier to maintain and update a banner than a whole page.

I have no problem with the One Channel layout. I have some suggestions for tiny features here and there like the ability to add a featured video different from the channel trailer.
Also, we're in 2015 now. The UI could use a little facelift that might improve the experience. It's too damn flat and uncontrasted.

And of course I'm going to complain about discovery features but that's a subject for another thread...

I personally think so... only because it's nice and it's all integrated with Google+ so there's no reason to change it I suppose...

I like the layout of the channels. Most of the other features are meh.
