I had written a thread on this topic a while ago if you can look it but, but if you're too lazy ill try to summarize.
- Nintendo use to take 100% of all ad revenue from videos with their content.
- They are now trying to take 40% of peoples revenue in this "program".
- This has been trashed by just about every large gaming YouTuber out there, as it's a total slap in the face. Most gaming devs make it free to monetize their games, or actually PAY YouTubers to make videos of their games as it's some of the best promotion out there.
- People should avoid this program like the plague. Nintendo is trying to set a very dangerous precedent in the gaming industry, and if people sign up for this program and it is a financial success, other game devs will follow suit. You're pretty much telling all gaming developers "hey, if you want 40% of my income im willing to give it to you".
- If you're posting Nintendo content and not monetizing your videos, I don't think they give out copyright strikes. They just claim content since they want your money. Im not sure about this however.
What it comes down to is you need to read up on this if you want to post Nintendo content. Ive watched and read a fair bit and even now I still don't know all the details. It's probably just best to avoid them like everyone else does.
