So I left my real world job today and I kind of did it for YouTube...

I wish I could, but I know I would starve. Plus, Youtube might feel kinda annoying if it feels like a job that you HAVE to do if you want to eat.
Haha I know how you feel man :p ah it doesn't I don't get enough time to do it as it is :p

Based on your track record and recent video view count you just made the biggest mistake in your life. While everyone serious about their channel entertains the thought I personally would not give up my day job for it unless it starts to equal what I make at my day job. And if it were to make equal money with the effort I am putting in now... why not keep the day job and have to income streams? It just does not make any sense to jump off the deep end at the level that you are at.
I could not agree with you more my friend! But for me this is just an experiment I would like to try out and as I said I am fine for money. Its a two month plan and after the two months I will go and work for my family again or something if I need money so I am all good so really for me there is no harm in it to be honest :) I am interested to see the results I can make :p I am young and have lots of time thanks to college and goverment fees :p but again your point is extremely valid and I am glad someone said it, means the world hasn't gone crazy yet haha[DOUBLEPOST=1493576286,1493575959][/DOUBLEPOST]
So I take it this guy doesn't have all that many views and subs?
I have a fair share but everytime they rose to a nice stable income I gave up because of real world problems but now is my experimenting time :D

I guess you might have chosen the wrong time to do it, since the revenue has gone down significantly these past few months!
But that shouldn´t stop me to say good luck, and hopefully it will work out for you! Let us know how it will work out for you!
Yeah I know but at the end of this I don't actually have anything to lose. So someone has to experiment with it :P I have planned this for months now so hopefully it works out somehow :) thanks for the good luck, I am gonna need every bit I can get haha!
Judging with what has happened recently, with the Ad Revenue Boycott or whatever, now isn't really the best time to quit your day job for Youtube. With how small your channel is, I highly doubt you'll be getting enough revenue to survive normally.
I have gotten paid 80-90 dollars for a solid couple of months before but had to stop due to real life issues but I have plenty of money and a backup plan so its only a two month experiment no harm will come from it :)
I always enjoy reading your posts @TheDutchTexan. You never hold back from speaking your mind :0)

It will be an interesting experiment to follow, working 9-5 exclusively on your YT channel and with a team of helpers too. I'm guessing your manager and team are working for free?

Good luck with it, and keep us posted...even if the results are not what you are hoping for!
Will do friend I look forward to seeing how it goes :P thanks for the supporting words and yes I have help for it so should be easier having proffessionals in the background :P

woah that was a bit of a leap of faith, only having a few months to get hundreds of thousands more eyes on your stuff os going to take something major like a few viral hits, or pewdiepie collab
Well I will do my best friend but it will be awesome to see if it works out :)

Wow, that's a big step bearing in mind you've hardly been uploading recently and your channel is only getting 200 views per day at the moment (according to your SocialBlade stats) I sincerely hope you do have a lot savings and other income because you're really going to need it.

Good luck. :)
Well I have plenty of money and there is no harm in it :P I hope it works out and with the backup and people I know I am extremely lucky but hopefully it all works out :)

Hmm... I don't know, leaving my primary job? Well... I'm an independent worker, i grow "Gurami" fish on my own fish farm... Can you give me ur opinion, if you have a job like me, will you leave it if your channel give you more benefits than ur primary job? Bcause i think like i feel "Sorry fish i leave you..", it would be sad for me... Hahah [emoji23]

Sometimes every decision that is made doesn't have to be right in someone else eyes. If you really want to take that leap and really work hard towards your goal, so be it. Just hope you have enough money saved to support yourself in your new role. Always got to have a plan B before plan A. Good luck, and never look down when times get rough.

Thanks man, really appreciate it. Yeah I have planned this for months now and would not have done it if I did not have a backup of some sorts in play :) I have a plan B, it would be stupid not to :) But I won't be looking back and I hope it goes some what successful but thank you again for your kind words :)

No problem. I defiantly agree with you're decision. I have a day job as well I want to quit. I make good money there, but I'm not happy there. I'm saving enough as well to quit and do something I love. Not YouTube though, something else. Working at a place I hate is not the answer, even though its my primary source of income.

What is your plan for growth? How are you going to grow your channel so that it can support you? Do you have any super-fans who are willing to chip in on Patreon or some other direct-pay system, or are your needs so low that less than a hundred dollars per month is worthwhile?

It's fine to pursue your dreams, but it seems like there isn't a plan so much here as just wanting to take some time off of work. Which again, that's fine, but it's an odd thing to say you're pursuing something full-time unless you have a well thought-out plan to make money off of it.

Thats exactly how I felt brother except thankfully I am on the lucky side of money :P one of the few in the world who is lucky enough. But if you are able to do so!I would always say go for your hearts wanting mate!Thats what I am doing, job was making me miserable and its not like the job was doing me any good anyway :P do what makes you happy at the end of the day always do what makes you happy :)

I mean hey, if it's something you always wanted to do I don't see how it's any different than people deciding they're going to go travel the world for a year. If you have the savings to do it, even if it doesn't work out at least you can say you had fun and did something you wanted to try doing.

From experience looking into the idea myself I can tell you it's just flat out difficult even putting in a lot of hours to be able to pull the kinds of views you need to be earning full-time type money.

I really really am trying to push my way towards this goal myself with constant uploads but again I can tell you it is very difficult because you either need other sources of passive income or a ton of views. Largest difference makers for me so far have been: research, brainstorming a ton of ideas, interacting with my community in the game I play, not being afraid to try lots of different ideas, and getting good search rankings. I hope you have more luck though, Elder Scrolls is definitely a large enough market to support you it's just a matter of content and timing probably.

Thanks man yeah, I won't be losing out by trying it, I can only really go up to be honest unless a world war calls out or YouTube completely fails all together haha XD I wish more people had the ability too, so many other would be able to rise in YouTube so I am hoping to be one of them in the next year :)

The way you organise, is exactly how I do it too!I have a massive folder full of ideas and scripts and storyboards wrote and drawn out. It helps in the long run to be organised. Sticking to one single niche is always a pretty smart idea and for you doing that with mobile games is an excellent idea, it means you will be good at what you do and people will see that as not only omething your good at but that it is also your passion :) yeah one thing I love about the elder scrolls is that people never seem to get enough of the content that comes with it but hopefully I will one day be able to see I am one of the creators people know of when it comes to the elder scrolls :)

Thanks for the positive comment anyway!
