So how do the big youtubers get so big?

YouTube can be weird and unpredictable sometimes. And you can make it in the most unusual ways. I was reading some Steam reviews the other day. I came to one, it was a short review, kind of funny, he left a link to the first part of his playthrough of "Youtuber's Life." This creator had literally more videos than subscribers (and his videos were above 500). From the one review, that video generated thousands of views, and in a mere week, he now has over 5000 subscribers (probably 6000 by now). Did he get lucky? Hell yes, but he put in a LOT of work before he got a break. You can make it in the strangest of ways I guess. Think outside the box :p

Yeah, I have a few ideas but it really does seem like the best plan is to simply upload consistent for a couple months and polish up the channel, then go from there.

I don't think anyone has the blueprint it comes down to content quality, personality, timing, and luck. YouTube is a different place for sure vs. 5-6 years ago and it is over saturated with Mr. Me Too's it takes longer for the creme to rise to the top but it is inevitable with the right work ethic and content quality. Focus more energy on creating series that will set you apart from those in your genre

i have been doing a gaming channel for 7 months and have 1,323 subscribers. i am insanely happy with those numbers. you need to set realistic goals. i would advise you to check out the milestones thread and see just how hard it can be and how long it can take to get subscribers. then set yourself realistic goals for yourself

Wow 1323 sub in 7months!? Great job! How did you achieve that ? Advertising a lot?

1. Try something new
2. Be patient. Subs come with time and for my channel it happens even when I am not uploading videos - they keep coming despite the lack of new content.
