So clearly someone besides you can control your comments

Okay, so I've been having a problem these last few months of replies I make in conversations randomly disappaearing. The only explanation that I can come up with is that someone else is deleting my comments, through use of the spam button either because they don't agree with more or for fun.

So is there anything I can do to stop this? Or am I just screwed?

The only people who can delete comments are the owner of the channel, or the person who left the comment.

If you're noticing your comments are being deleted, then it's the owner of the channel who is deleting them.

It's nothing new, this is how it's been since the dawn of comments...

We don't have the specifics of your comments but if you're copying and pasting comments on people's videos in rapid fashion, YouTube (and others) can flag them as spam.

I'm not sure why or how none of you have heard about "comment ghosting" - I've bitched about it many times. YouTube's algorithm automatically flags some comments, even if they aren't spam. If this happens to me, I will go back and edit it, even if that means adding one more period and it will usually resolve.

I would imagine this is why mine and so many other people's videos have such low like to comment ratios.

No, that can't be it. Why would the video poster care about my random comments and nothing else? It's not even like all my comments are argumentative. I could just be saying something like "haha" and it's gone like it was never even there.

Your comments are being detected as spam then.

Well that's just not fair. How do I stop it?
Not much you can do. I keep finding legit comments in the "spam" bucket and I have to approve them. The video owner will have to approve your comments and comment replies as well. You could try to contact them and ask them nicely, but it's entirely up to them to do so.
