Smart phone for making vids?

Is it bad if you use your smart phone as your main resource for recording? Not just talking about vlogging.

I'm asking because I am due for an upgrade in about a week and one of my options is an LG Optimus G or a Galaxy sIII for free.

They're excellent phones with pretty nice cameras, but should they be used as my main recorder?

Does anyone else use a phone for recording?

Even though I have nothing somewhat helpful to add to this thread, I must say.. really liking the sig haha

Cellphones and mobile devices have very good specs nowadays. If that's all you can afford, they are just fine. With vlogging, it's more about the content and sound anyway.
