Pretty chuffed at recent progress so though I'd share!
My GoPro videos have been getting pretty good feedback recently, and the majority of my views and subs seem to be coming from GoPro viewers. Hence, Ive been creating more videos around the GoPro and they seem to be doing pretty well.
Anyways, I created a video on a 3rd party accessory I purchased, as the retailer gave me a discount if I mentioned their site - which I did.
I then found the actual manufacturer of the item had placed the video up on their Facebook page - so I got in contact and they ended up sending me a box full of stuff - 1 of everything they produce!!
I created more videos on them, which helped feed my channel etc.
They've now started placing my videos on their direct website alongside their product pages, which is good considering they are the actual manufacturer etc.
They also said they would like me to do some promotional work for them, and they'll get back to me when its needed, but basically us ether branding instead of mine, for which they will pay me for my time.
Now I'm receiving emails from distributers and retailers who are also seeking permission to use the videos. They have been contacting the manufacturer, who have been referring them on to me - so hopefully they'll embed my videos on their sites and I'll get some more exposure (I have links to my channel etc as an annotation in my outro
).
On another positive note - GoPro have contacted me and have 'strongly suggested' I register with them for GoPro Sponsorship next month (registrations are closed for this month). Not sure what their sponsorship will do for me, but pretty chuffed with the recognition!
All going pretty well so far. Just thought I'd share.
Its taken years to get to where I am, so patience helps. For all those just starting out, keep plodding along and keep your hopes strong. With dedication you'll be sure to progress
