Sit or stand?

Hey guys!
So I kinda wanted to ask what u think is the best
to do for youtube videos, sitting or standing?
And how much of u should be shown? Like the whole upper body
Or just the face plus shoulders ?

honestly It depends on your style and mood.

I just did a video standing, and it gives off more energy cause I move around more. Where as if I do a sit down one, its more of a calm and steady pace.

As long as you don't do both at the same time, then it just gets confusing with the contrasting shots all the time. If you pick one depending on what feels right then stick with it and it will work out well.

But to answer your question more up front. I prefer to stand most of the time.

Well depends on the video, if i am ranting for an example only my upper part of my body will show

If i am vlogging maybe i might move, not sure i haven't been doing this for a while :<

I don't think it matters, really. I sit because I'm taller than my tripod, and my head cuts off unless I stand way far back :giggle:

Very good question, I was just thinking about this the other day. I would think that to give demos you sit, but to just talk you should stand!

depends on the vibes you are trying to send off to the people watching the video. If you want to give out energy, go for standing. For a serious atmosphere , take a seat

Standing allows you to project your voice more and also keeps you slightly more active. This is why I try to do my reviews while standing now, I'm a little more energetic and I can quickly pace around like a nut in between paragraphs if I'm struggling xD

^ This. +1

That said, I'd personally love to be able to stand when I make videos. >_> I really should get a tripod.

I did my vlogs sitting for a *long* time, but recently switched to standing, mainly for a change of pace. I prefer sitting because I can look up at the camera and get a better angle of my face, but I just wanted to mix it up a bit. I have some set ideas I want to put together for my vlogs in the future, in which I'll be sitting again. I just need the set pieces and proper lighting equipment first.
