Request simple Photoshop help needed.

I want to take this image and cover up something in my video. However, I only need the top left triangle and I need the bottom right to be transparent. If you can let me know how to snip it into two triangles, I could Magic Eraser the triangle on the right. By the way, I need a straight cut, not the amateur cut that I represented lol

Or, if you could quickly do it for me, that would be appreciated - Thanks!

Use the pen tool to select the side you want. Once you've joined the pen tool's path up, right click anywhere and click 'make a selection'. Then use a low opacity eraser tool and go over the selected area

Also, to keep the background saved as transparent, it must be saved as a .png file. ^^ It took me a while to figure that out..lol You might've already known that, but I thought I'd mention it. =)

I'm not an expert but what I do is save it as a "Compuserve .gif" file.
