Showing videos to friends

It's probably like peeling off a bandaid. You just got to do it fast to get over the initial nervousness. After I showed my friends, a few watch them religiously, some don't have the time and others just aren't interested in the videos I do. I just look at it objectively and am happy for those that like my videos and still watch them.
Thank you for the advice. That really makes sense. :)
Well you do a good job so I wouldn't worry to much about it.. Just keep going and keep building.
Thank you. :)

I just told my friends and family "I have a YouTube cooking show If you take a look it's..............." I don't even know how many looked, I don't really care all that much it's just me cooking. Well, they most likely looked to make sure I wasn't bringing shame upon the family or something like that. lol If I was doing something more controversial which, I might on another channel in the future, then I would be a little nervous. I would still tell them and I still wouldn't care that much.

I was just like you but eventually, my friends OR EVEN some of my family members would find my videos. It happened on my other channel. They ended up posting them on their Facebook, like "hey look this is my friend rapping!" and stuff like that.
I really have no idea how they found me because I didn't connect any of my Youtube channel to my Facebook or anything.

Now with my gaming channel, I've done the opposite. Showing the channel to all of my friends and family already. Hell, even my dad! He even makes fun of me when we hang out together! He's like "Up your aaaassss!" to strangers in public in front of everyone because I kept saying that in my first COD Youtube video. I never told him about my videos again. He's in the exception list (people who shouldn't know too much).

All that aside, my friends are straightforward and can be blunt. I love honesty!

My friends were the ones that actually pushed me into making videos. I had been considering it for a while, but hadn't done it and approached a few friends with the idea. They told me to go for it, so I did, and ta-da. They've actually been a great source of feedback so far, and I've been very appreciative for it. I just wish I could find some way to get my videos out there more and find a few subscribers.

show everyone your videos, thats what i do, and people hating stuff is just as good as people liking it in my opinion

For me, I share my videos and tell my friends to watch them. I don't mind them watching the videos...as long as I'm not there, haha. I think it's so awkward to watch myself on Youtube unless I am alone because... It's just weird. I can't explain it. But I have found a few friends who actually care about my vlogs so I always love it when they watch what's going on in my life! So if I were you, I would show my close friends who would actually care. Don't show people who won't really give a crap because that would hurt you a lot (trust me. I've experienced it). And maybe you have some friends who you don't really know and have only met once, but maybe by showing them your videos, they'll get to know you more and befriend you! That has also happened to me as well. I built up some old friendships through my vlogs n___n It's a great thing. Sorry if I talk so much, LOL. But yes, share your videos to your friends! You never know... they might just love them and ask for more! :D

I'm still getting used to my girlfriend watching my videos haha. I would be sitting in the same room as her, and all of a sudden I'm hearing my intro music. xD It used to scare me when I Would show someone else my videos, but now it doesn't bother me.
