Should YouTube (Google) invest in...

I was thinking that for you tubers like my self who work a full time job when not on camera that it would be nice idea for YouTube/Google to create a desktop app to upload videos. Cause I find my self waking up before work to upload some videos (my upload speed its crap)
And leave it whilst I'm at work and to come seeing they're done, but this means leaving my computer on all day with a single tab open on my browser.
I thought it'd be good for them to create a desktop app which you can do exactly what you can do now on the upload page (add tags, thumbnails ect ect) but it also has a power down PC function once it has finished uploading the videos you want. Itd save us as the YouTube's money in electricity, some of us walking into a hot room due to the computer running all day and even some computers lives as they could easily die from over usage.
Just an idea to throw out there. I don't know if there is a thread on this already or not, if so I apologise.
What does everyone think?

I honestly believe that this'd be a really good idea. I mean I don't have a job or anything like that but as you said some youtubers do have full time jobs and may have really slow internet connections so they have to start uploading at home and then leave the computer on as it uploads, which as you already said kills the computer's life from over usage. So yeah I do believe it'd be a good app.

Is it possible for web apps or websites to power down your computer? Or to even signal your computer to power itself down?

There are remote ways to do so but there will be a few trust issues with the app if it becomes created though. There is the "shutdown.exe" application but I'm not sure if it's possible to integrate that into an app.

Like proud said they're are applications that can remotley shut down your PC/laptop om your phone (going youre on the same internet connectuon as your computer) and some programs like downloaders can shut down your computer if you tell it to within the options of the application

your dream as come true, its called freemake video converter. all you have to do is upload the video, its that simple and it has a check mark that can shut down the computer.

Thanks for the tip!
I'll check it out once I'm back at work. I'm guessing you use it since your suggesting to use it?
