Should I upload my videos as private first?

I heard somewhere that you should upload your videos on private first to add in subtitles and annotations, and then make it public. Does this actually help with views and stuff? And also if you upload it as private will it still show up in people's emails as private or will it not show up in people's emails until you make it public?

I upload as unlisted until I'm done with tags, title, etc. Since I tend to upload right as I go to sleep I will leave it unlisted until the morning, then I'll take care of the SEO stuff and make it public. I don't think it pops up in emails until you make it public. I haven't uploaded in a while so things could have changed.

I always make mine private until i have sorted out the annotations and stuff in the outro and anything else that needs to be added, i think it does still come up in emails once it's published but i'm not entirely sure i just like my videos to be completely ready for viewing before being made public, makes my life slightly easier

What I do is actually schedule them for when I want them to go live, and then I will add annotations and such once they are up before the time of scheduling!

That's actually a good idea! I haven't thought of that cause I never schedule my videos! How do you actually do that?

I always do my videos private even if I'm not scheduling because then I can edit them before they go live and make sure everything is perfect before hand and it makes that really good first impression :) also I try to do annotations before they go live as well :)
