Should I Remove Our Best Performing Video?

My advicewould be to to leave it up. Be glad that you got at least one video that is doing so well:) Yes maybe some subs will drop when you uploaed new videos (if the only subscribed do tothis one video) but maybe they will stay, you never know:) Keep it up and be glad that you got that video:up2:

Echoing everyone else - leave it up mate. Try to ignore/forget about it and concentrate on where you want the channel to go to now.
I would guess that if you searched into most successful channels there will be some early uploaded 'odd' videos.

Thanks all. Seesms like everyone here is in agreement to leave it up, so will do that.[DOUBLEPOST=1525279414,1525279041][/DOUBLEPOST]
But, looking at your most recent videos they do not preform well at all (mine don't either... so we got that in common!)
Thanks for twisting that knife a little more. Haha!

I would keep it there! It will bring you new people to the channel, and they might also be interested in the other types of videos you upload. I have a music video on my channel which is claimed and monetized by band, and they are allowing me to keep it up. It has so much more views compared with anything else I posted, but because this song has a very special meaning to me, I want to keep it there. Also I like to think I am supporting the band :)

Agree with everyone, keep it up.

Do you have another channel with How To videos, if so use it as and ad for that channel and then have one of the Kids channel videos on your How to channel to promote that. Just mention your connected (family ties). Even if you get a few 'true' subs/views off it, it will be worth it :D:D

Nope, just one channel. At the time I made that video we were doing some family type vlogs and I was getting a lot of comments about the the fish tank in the background and thought about doing a video just showing off the tank. Then decided, how to videos can do really well so why not do a how to. My video would offer a different take for people who might be inimitaded to start one.

The video took off but as we did more vlogs I was really losing the focus of what our channel was about and who our Target audience was so really focused back on that and scrapped all the vlog stuff.

At this point, I am really out of ideas on how to grow the channel. I keep watching our sub count slowly go up and views continually go down. We keep getting other channels subbing to us in our newer stuff only because they want us to sub back and it just continues to hurt us.

Video wise, I tag everything to the max, always use key words in the title and always write a full description so I am out of ideas at this point. Thought maybe removing a vid that outdoes everything else on the channel that has nothing to do with it might spark something.

Even contemplating deleting the channel and re-upping everything onto a total new channel and starting from scratch but that's a whole other topic to be started for advice. LOL

Of course there is always the maybe our videos just aren't good and nobody wants to watch them point of view but I like to think it is more that our videos just aren't reaching out target audience and just being killed by YouTube before it can ever get there.

This is why I delete comments that appear to be promotional. I don't want my channel to be a cesspool of other channels popping a comment, leaving and ruining watch time. To be honest, I ban them. Once they see that it's a place where other channels freely post to try to get noticed, it's a cancer that keeps spreading and eventually kills the host.

So true about it killing watch time on a video!

Same for my daughters channel, it's growing but slowly. I find Instagram is a good way to promote your videos, are you on it?? Just started on Twitter but too early to say on that.

I would keep the channel, don't delete and start again - you may regret doing it. Kids channels is very competitive, loads are doing it, i think once you been around a while then it may grow naturally but keep on with new channel content.

Thing I don't get is how some channels are say 6 months old and have 10k subs but nothing out of the ordinary in their videos - suppose you need that bit of luck too.

So good luck with your channel :D:D

THIS! So much this. As soon as anyone promotes their own channel they are gone. If they mention they drove such and such car or reviewed such and such car it's fair game. But saying "follow my instagram or sub to my youtube" they will get ghosted.
