Should I put an intro to my video?

I have seen other youtubers have introductions to their videos. I was thinking about in the beginning of every one of my videos having fun clips from other videos, it would only be about 10 seconds or so long. Do you think this is a good idea?

YouTube has an option that lets you add a short clip to your future and past videos. But it only lets it be 3 seconds or under. And seriously this is for your own good. Anything more than that can get repetitive and annoying.

Test it out, and see if it works. Ask someone here to have a look at your video with said intro in it.

Always experiment :)

thats totally up to you, but if you do follow these universal tips:

introduce yourself, let your audience and non-subscribers know who you are.
recap a previous episode.
practice in front of a mirror.
experiment.
be creative.
act goofy. the possibilities are endless.

I have always liked this format:

Introduce the Video > 2-3 Second Intro > Main Content

I dont feel it matters too much but if you want to help get people to remember your brand/name etc it can really help. Anything more than 3 seconds is excessive these days :)

Looks like I need to cut my intros down... haha

YouTube allows you to add an intro to all your videos at once, go to CHANNEL SETTINGS and click inVideo. Here you can upload an intro. The key tip is to have a short, but recognisable intro. Like 5-10 seconds is max.

The best thing for intro is as follows (not possible in inVideo):
* 5-10 second announcing what your video is about
* 5-10 second intro
* actual video

Longer intros make lots of people click away immediatly
