Should I make Youtube my job!?

I Love YTtalk
I guess the title speaks for itself, I have another career path ahead of me which requires that I work 8 hours a day for 3,5 years, and it's not even something I enjoy doing. I'd probably only do it to satisfy my mother, and I'm gonna be moving out soon anyways.

I would have to come to terms with telling everyone I know about my channel, but in the end it outweighs having to deal with a job I hate. I earn more than enough money to live from it, just last month I earned 2250 dollars, and that paycheck gets bigger each month. It would get bigger even faster if I put more work into my channel.

What do you think!?

I think you should keep with YouTube, you're earning enough to make a living, so what would be the point in having a job you hate, when you already have this one that's fun and you enjoy? ^^

If you've never had another real job, no. Do it as well as a proper job.

Why? YouTube will not be around forever, at least not in its current form. If you do this for, say, 6 more years without getting a proper job, and then it shuts down, or changes to the point where you can't earn money like this, you have the world's most crap CV to rely on, and you'll find yourself struggling to get a job in McDonald's.

I always tell people this: YouTube is not a job for the most part. It's something you can easily earn money from by recording your hobby and putting it online. It's not an employable skill to say 'I talk over video games'. You have to, sadly, think of the real world. You're young, you need proper life/work experience.

Youtube wont last forever, so never think of making that your sole source of income. Just think to yourself that you've achieved the part-time job of your dreams, but never think of it as your career.

On another note though I really like your LoL vids and I dont really watch LoL vids anymore unless its you or Keyori. As long as you keep enjoying yourself on your vids and never act like its a job i'll keep watching them.

To be honest, don't rely on it too much as anything might happen. I suggest you doing a proper job besides your YouTubing to have something to fall back on, also it is a nice way to socialize with people in real life and get more job experience and such. You don't have to work like 5 days a week or something, but I suggest 1-2 days could be proper until something hits the fan.

you're already making 2250$ doing what you are doing, yeah if i was in your shoes id quit my job in a heart beat, but what people are saying above makes a lot of sense.

I just sped through all the comments but I am sure someone has already said this... Do what makes YOU happy not what makes everyone else happy.
I fully stand by having a job that you wake up in the morning excited to go to... not one where you wake up & try to convince yourself to get up out of bed.
Follow your heart when it comes to a job...
Youtube might not be a rest of your life thing but it could open up many more opportunities for you. You never know till you try :)

I wish you good luck with everything.
