I hate to sound negative but the appeal and value in getting a play button is that they only give them out after 100k subs and so if you get one, you have really achieved something difficult. It's meant to be a challenge and a rare prize. In fact, the play button comes with a signed letter from the CEO congratulating the creator and mentioning how difficult it is to get. That's even more rewarding than seeing the play button.

A fake award for 1k subs from a 3rd party just doesn't seem to have any appeal or value. It's kind of like a politically correct participation prize so that everyone feels like they've won. lol sorry.

I can see your point but 1000 subs is a good milestone and some people want something to communicate it. I would not call it a fake because if YouTube does not make a 1000 sub button it can't be a fake.

To me something that is manually built have much more value than what is automatically printed and everybody has the same thing. That signature you mean it is also not automatically printed. You are the one living in illusion my friend :D I would definitely collaborate on this because it will be something unique on the youtube scene! To many people 1k is milestone just like for these big shots 100k or 1m or 10m.

I agree to a degree, but 1k is a fair amount of sub for some. Of course It's not the same as an official 100k or 1m one but it's a bit of a novelty item to have. For my children its would be a big deal and be a moral boost for their hard work on their channels :D

Living in illusion? I have my silver play button. A real one with the signed letter from the CEO. I'm living in reality.

I'd say wanting a participation prize for an achievement that is 100x lower than the real thing from a 3rd party company nothing to do with Youtube is the definition of living in an illusion. Kidding yourself that you've got a real play button. That's "living in an illusion."

Oh. The world is full of those and in some occasions except harmless they are giving people some happiness or self confidence.
"The best dad of the world"
Eh.... "Employ of the month"
"Award winning filmmaker"

:)

lol - It's like on kids sports days in schools. They give out prizes to everyone so that none of them will cry. ^^[DOUBLEPOST=1523364973][/DOUBLEPOST]

I can understand feeling proud of getting 1k subs and of celebrating it and marking the event, but I don't think buying a fake play button is the way to do it for all the reasons I gave above. Get them some sweets and give them a party. :)

You are still not getting it. It is not about button itself. For me it is having some interesting content to offer my 1k community for that goal. And you look a bit ignorant acting in a way that only "rich" people can have a fun. Well, let me correct you by saying "poor" people have a right to have a fun too, and trust me, their fun is real sincire fun.

And that letter that you are praising so much, what about it, I really don't get it? It is like you are a really hard working guy and 100k people says you are a hard working guy (hwg) and then comes your "boss" saying well done you are a hwg and you are so happy about it. I would be more happy and grateful about that 100k people confirming me my work than that one ceo guy.

although I agree with the majority of what your saying. I would proudly hang that participation award on my wall in my office. but yeah to some 1000 comes easy some will fake 1000 subs pretty easily as well. but 1000 honest subs is quite a accomplishment. a huge number of people give up before they ever get there. I will likely never reach 100k subs I don't think my content really draws that number of subscribers, I could be wrong plus being hand made by another you tube creator would be pretty cool. I would gladly pay a few bucks for it and give him a shout out when I get to that point. yeah its not a silver play button presented from YouTube but it would still be cool to me anyway.

"Rich" and "poor" ? WTF are you talking about? The amount of money someone has is not a criteria for getting a Youtbe play button. Creators get a play button because they have got 100k / 1 million / 10 million verified and audited subs. That's it. I'm sorry you haven't reached that level yet. Maybe you should work a bit harder and you might get one yourself. Good luck.
