Should I get better lighting? Is lighting important?

I only use a lamp(light bulb shining directly to me) next to my tripod with my video camera and I think it is good lighting but I don't really know should I get better lighting like big and some small youtubers have they have those big lights shining to them next to there camera/tripod and to be honest there videos with that lighting they have look really professional and great quality!


So should I get better lighting? Is lighting important and will it improve the quality of my videos? And what are those lights called that lots of big/small youtubers use in there videos? Are they called sandboxes(really not sure)??

They are pretty important in my opinion, but i dno what they are called. If u have the money go out and get one, since they make ur facecams look much better!

Lighting is usually very important when having channel. You could use softboxes in a two or three point lighting formation. You could also use a ring light which comes in a size of about the ring of the camera lens or a large one that is maybe 2-3 feet.

Of course you could also opt for natural sunlight. I used to use it and along with many others, still do occasionally.

Yes I think lighting is important for videos and it should improve the quality of your videos and make them look more professional. Look up fluorescent light kits on Amazon you can find a kit with 3 lights for about $50 which is what I got.

Yes, yes, yes lighting is so important. Dark or semi-Dark videos are ones i cant watch

Softbox maybe? It's a big, enclosure surrounding a light that diffuses the light and makes it soft, which is more flattering and generally looks nicer.

I think your videos are well lit enough for what you're doing now. Also, why don't you switch your channel page to the other one instead of the "feed" style you currently have so you could promote playlists and possibly show a channel trailer to unsubscribed viewers.

So how do I do that then??
