Should I censor my videos?

Hey guys! I have just started my channel and I'm going to have my first upload today, but i am worried about the content. I am a vlogger and i'm planning to do comedy vlogs. The issue is that in my videos I tend to curse. Should I censor my videos ?

Really depends on who your expecting your viewers to be. I personally dont like to here bleep.bleep..bleep every 10 seconds. I would rather here the profanity. But with that said cursing multiple times every sentence is probably going to turn off some viewers. Its really up to you.

It depends on who your target audience is and if it would appeal to them or not. If you're making comedy videos for pre teens, I imagine censoring cursing would be best. But if your demographic is 20 year olds then sure, go ahead. It also depends on what your brand image is and how you want it to be portrayed. Even if you're marketing to an older crowd, if you want your brand to be family friendly or lighthearted then don't. Taking stock of what you want your brand to be will ultimately dictate the content of your videos.

Hey cool! I do comedy vlogs too!

Honestly, it's just a matter of preference. I don't curse in my videos because I want them to be more "friendly" so that anyone can watch them. On the flip side I've seen vloggers with 100k+ view when have a super sailor's mouth and curse almost every other word.

So again, just go with what you think is best and most importantly, be you.

Do what you're most comfortable with. We've seen success in both areas so I don't think it matters. (Jenna Marbles probably averages 50 curse words a video while people like Ryan Higa are kid friendly).

I'm debating this myself. I'm doing music gear videos and have puppets in them (gotta be different) and the puppets have a 12 year old boy humor. Going to keep that format and see if the channel performs before cleaning up their humor.
