Shotgun Mic Suggestions?

Hello there!
I'm currently looking to get a shotgun mic to attach to my Canon 100D. I have a budget of £55 (could possibly stretch to £60, but would really rather not). I need it, really, to be a shotgun, as I will be shooting outside as well as vlogging and I don't really fancy hauling my rather heavy laptop with me everywhere to plug in a USB cable! I have been doing some research but I thought it would be helpful to ask people who may have experience with camera mics to get some advice. For the price, I'm looking for the best sound quality I can get on a shotgun - and, preferably, one that allows me to stand a foot or two away and still picks up good sound. If you have any suggestions, I would be most grateful to hear them. Thank you very much! (I know I'm asking for a lot for the price, but I want to see what people would suggest for some advice on the way forward)

Ok, I know how you feel being on a tight budget. For your budget that you have, I would recommend getting the Audio Technica ATR-6550 shotgun microphone. Now, if you were to save up your money and extend your budget, I would just get the Rode Video Mic Go for your camera. The Rode is a WAY better microphone, but of course the price is higher. If I were you I would just save up for the Rode, but if you need a good mic soon, then get the Audio Technica. Hope that helps!

Ok, thank you! I saved up a bit more (birthday money, hurray!) and ordered the RODE Go Mic - looking forward to getting it tomorrow, hopefully.

It's kind of late now that you ordered it. But for everyone else you check out Curtis Judd's YouTube channel. He recently did a comparison of various shotgun mics. He does all kinds of other audio comparisons as well.
