I made my channel in 2009 and I just have 720 subscsribers (as i'm not consistent).
I want to take it more seriously and I thought about making tutorials that are short and straight to the point, something that's not seen very often.
While I still can't make money, i'm worried that actually these around 5 minute videos won't help me catch up in the algorrythm.
does it depend on video duration?
on how often you upload videos?
The tags you use and keywords in the description?

How can I attract more audience and will shorter videos affect my traction?
Thank you!

If your content is good and people actually click and watch, then you'll be fine. These nuances are inconsequential to good content, which too many people ignore.
