Shady Youtuber Practices

I Love YTtalk
When I started doing Youtube I tried to find people on twitter that were doing similar things and to try and make friends, contacts etc. Naturally I would be asked to check out their channel and I would check out theirs.
A few times though people sent me their link and it went directly to their subscription. I would get asked if I wanted to confirm subscription and I would choose no because I would actually like to know what I'm subscribing to.
The reason this is shady is because it almost tricks the person into subscribing. You shouldn't have to do that.
This is the reason why I would ask people to check out my channel rather than ask them to subscribe.
What do you guys think?

I think the most annoying thing is when people spam your inbox by sending you PMs with stuff like: "I can grow your channel", "Click here to get more likes", or "Free subscribers". Those are the worst, and I have been getting them so much lately.

Yeah...I'm also getting people emailing me asking me to check out their channel. I don't mind checking out different people because I would like people to check me out too but it can get annoying.

I hate people who try to get you into the sub4sub and bot stuff. Those are the ones that I hate the most.

I don't even understand the logic behind people purely seeking sub4sub. Sure, you may end up with a large number of subscribers but I'd like to know how many even care about your content. It's just pure number p**n at that point.

That sounds dumb, you subscribe cause you like something, not cause someone asks you to or beecause there's a big button.

Oh this is like when people used to make one of those giant subscription annotations on the screen so that when you went to pause the video by clicking the screen, it would take you to "Confirm Subscription". It's quite shady, and more than a little annoying.

I think you can put a Subscribe pic/button/annotation at the end of your video when you're asking people to subscribe...but I think that's different.
