I find that the title really matters a lot. I have done experiments where playing with the title moves my videos to the top of search results. It doesn't always work, but I have gotten a few of mine to the top for basic terms people will likely search for.

Plenty of threads on the forum regarding it. Though if you want a quick explanation, it works a little like this:
When someone looks something up on YouTube using the search bar, it counts it as key words. These key words will match with the key words in your title, description, and tags. The more relevant the key words are to your video, the higher you are in the search. For example, if I look up "Dastardly Dinosaur" it will come up with my channel, and then the videos with my name in the title, description, and tags.
