Scripted Videos

I am completely unscripted whenever I do videos with commentary. Anything remotely scripted would be a topic or two written down beforehand to talk about during gameplay, that's about it. Everything else is spontaneous and random.

Even co-op stuff is unscripted.

I try to script everything. I find that if I wing it, I miss a lot of the details that are important to my product reviews.

I write ideas down so I don't forget because I have too much on my plate right now. I think some scripted stuff is better than others.

I feel like my type of Videos pretty much demands a Script. But, it's fine since it's one of my favorite parts of making a video! I absolutely love writing, and couldn't imagine my "Main" Videos being as good without it. Well, I can because my newest "Main" Video is pretty much crap... Definitely not doing that again.

Since I review video games, the game info and such is scripted. Most of the skits are either scripted or freestyle. The actual review and our personal thoughts on the games... those are completely freestyle.

I have found making a script feels really cheesy but making an outline works really well for me. Instead of writing something that says "Today I went to the mall and came across a man in a confrontation with another man in a goat costume, after that I was so shocked I began to write a story over the matter. Once the story was completed i drove it to my buddy in Albuquerque. However I didn't quite make it because on the way I ran over a goat." I would write something like:
-Went to the mall
-Fight with goat costume
-Writing story
-Albuquerque
-Ran over a goat
Doing it this way just makes everything feel more natural and less robotic and as a bonus sometimes you wind up saying something way funnier in the heat of the moment than you ever could come up with sitting down with a pencil and paper The only time i ever right a true script is if I have a pretty specific punchline or I am making something for someone else.
