Scripted or Unscripted Vlogs?

You would have hated my original videos, boo. :D I was awfully nervous. I also didn't know how to edit back then. :cookiemonsterbelike:

I think bullet points for things you'd definitely want to hit in the video would be enough. You could always do some touch ups afterwards to get rid of any awkward moments. If that's not an option, just make the awkwardness cute in some way. That always works. (See: me)
It depends on the person, so I would have probably loved yours :P. But if most of your video is you saying "hummm I think that...uuuh" then that might drive people away.

So I've seen loads of vloggers who script their videos.
I personally just have a few bullet points so I dont forget something I wanted to say.
But should you really make detailed scripts for Vlogs?

A majority of my videos are scripted, mainly so I don't stray off the reservation too much. It really depends on your screen presence. Though, other people help. I wouldn't need a script if I was making a video with someone else.

Like everyone seems to have demonstrated, it really is a personal preference kind of thing. Personally, I started off using bullet points, but I've been doing my current series for such a long time now that I'm comfortable just knowing my subject and seeing what comes out. The editing is where the video really comes together. But I needed those bullet points in the beginning.

Scripts can be great if you want to say something really specific, but you don't want to sound like you're reading, or reciting in a wooden way. The thing that draws people to your vlogs is your personality as much as what you talk about.

It can go both ways, sometimes its good to have a script so you know exactly what you will say and not mess up, but then I would say its more fun to watch when things are just spontaneous and you don't know what you're going to say :)
