Script Vs No Script

Do you use a script for your youtube videos and do you rehearse first before getting on camera? I want to know what people think here, is it beneficial to have a script and to rehearse it or is it better and more natural to get on camera and say what comes to mind? How far do you go into planning your videos if youre a vlogger? Obviously people rehearse if they sing or need to do a speech or something, I am talking in general for videos where you speak on them to your audience :)

I always go by planning results in perfection in your end product no matter what it is. Having a script written up and practised may not seem as natural as it could be but it is better than messing things up if you're not so good at talking on the spot.

I dont for my vlogs but I do one for my gaming channel, I set out exactly what I am going to say when I commentate and go with the flow changing it a little as I speak. With my vlogs I just sit and speak, thats what I am good at most

I write down what im going to be doing and plan in advance it helps me and i make less bloopers like that.

I would say a full script isn't necessary, but having an outline of your idea is good tool when making videos. I always carry a notebook with me of some kind, so if an idea strikes, I can write it down. I can remember the main points of all my scenes in my head, but the fine details I like to record so I don't lose a good idea. Also some ideas sound great in your head, but don't fit in front of a camera. A lot of my process for filming is knowing what I'd like to see, but improvising to get the right take. With that being said, mapping out your overall idea is a great thing, but word for word might not be needed with how quickly some scenes or ideas can be thrown in the trash bin. Depends on the person.

Due to my lack of dialogue I would say no script. But the few videos where I did it was entirely unscripted.
