Scheduling uploads ;3

Schedule uploads are the best thing that happen to YouTube at least for me. And the suspense of waiting until that video get release is one of the best feelings ever.

I used to schedule my uploads only because I would make my videos around 8pm.. and that's just not a great time to post videos, so I would schedule them for the next day at around 3-6pm :)

I only schedule multiple uploads when I create a series and I'm creating 3-4 videos at a time. I will upload them all and then schedule them a few days apart.

I record 14 days in advanced. I edit 7 days in advanced if not sooner. I upload and schedule at least 7 days in advanced.

I have all of April done except some from a new series.

Haha, I hope to get myself to that position soon. I always tell folks that it is smart to have uploads ready to go in advance of your schedule but that is easier said than done. My suggestion with being patient would be to just realize that you don't want to make everything public only to be out of videos to show off after. Moderation and all that. (=

I used to all the time, then when my scheduled upload went up last week hardley anyone saw it so now I have to stop using it because it appears it is broken.
I actually once opened a thread about this too as my scheduled videos seem to gain less views than the ones I upload an immediately set as public. Since no one else seems to have this issue though I put it down as coincidence. Got one video sitting there now for Thursday and sometimes I wonder if I should just delete it and upload it on Thursday.
Then I say to myself "You're crazy...why would this affect views?"

I've decided I'm going to start scheduling as I just uploaded when I wanted but that meant like 5 or more videos a week! I like how I'm not the only one that feels that soon as you have a video I have to put it up straight away! I think that's my problem is that I impulse upload rather than having a schedule.

I have 2 months of scheduled uploads at any given time since I post once a week.

It really helps when I'm working on larger projects which require more than 2 weeks to edit.

I only just got scheduling privileges last week, and it's been fantastic. I try to have a video up a day, but with my sleep schedule, they always ended up being posted at awkward times. Now I've got one at 18:00 daily. I'd say scheduling ahead instead of posting immediately is important so as not to overwhelm your audience. I know when even my favorite youtubers have 3 or 4 new videos at once, I most likely will not watch all of them unless I'm extremely interested in the topic of each and every one. This is purely speculation on my part, but I imagine spacing it out would have a positive effect on audience retention.

I like using scheduling to get my videos up at an appropriate time, especially if I know I'll be too busy to usually upload it. I try to upload between 2-6PM, but even with a big time window like that life can get hectic and I may not be home until 10PM.
