Schedule vs No Schedule

Well...I've been trying somewhat to do a schedule, 1 new video everyday at 7Pm (PST), its kinda hard to get into, like exercising for me. But hopefully I can make it a routine thing.

I have talked to some of my subscribers, and they said a schedule is nicer and more organized, I used to upload whenever as well, but there was too much confusion, some were not even aware I had uploaded the next episode of X game already.

It's also nice to have a schedule so your audience doesn't have to constantly check youtube like facebook just to wonder if you uploaded a new video.

I think having a schedule is nice because it also takes time for your newest videos to collect views. My main channel has been successful (my standards, lol) due to my schedule. I get a lot more views than my daily vlog channel because I only upload once a week, therefore collecting subbies, views, likes throughout the week. I really like the schedule! At first I didn't think it was good either, but I soon learned that it was a very helpful tip!

We have a strict schedule with the show. We record everything on monday, then edit everything on the tuesday, all the while, posting two episodes a day, everyday. We make sure we do enough for 14, maybe more episodes a week. Each being 10-15 mins long. But without a schedule like this, i think the show would be too sporadic.

We have a schedule for our main series that run on weekdays, then we would just upload other videos as and when we wanted to. However we're going to start using a planned out upload schedule from now on, it helps to now exactly how much of each series we need to get recorded. It will be interesting to see what affect it has on our views and subscribers though.

I think for people VlogBrothers and Wheezywaiter it is ok but people like JonTron who is gone for months that is ugh...

I guess it all depends. I can usually depend on Tuesdays for a new Linkara or Critic video. And if you miss a Tuesday, you can always check back whenever to see all the vids you missed. My biggest problem is trying to keep and maintain a schedule though because sometimes you're just too busy. I've been keeping a 'new vid every weekend' schedule for almost a month now, but never actually broadcast or promised it. I was hoping the fans would notice.

I don't have a schedule . Mainly because when I have a game on I upload on daily basis and sometimes I put out more than one video per day . That's mainly because i do Walkthroughs and similiar and a Walkthrough has to be finished ASAP , right ? I can't keep a game on for more than a week . When i don't have any game running i like to stream . Mainly Dota 2 because it's the game i play the most . I think people with a Vlog , tutorial and similiar channels should have a schedule .
Gamers , i don't think so . Or better , if you are a gamer that makes reviews , random gameplays and such , so yes , the schedule might be cool but for a walkthrough channel , you can't set a real schedule .

I dont bother with a schedule TBH. I try to throw up a video once a week, but it has to be around my own working and private life, so Id rather not promise something that I may not be able to keep! I havent seen it hurt my channel at all either.
Subscribers will be informed of new videos via email anyways - well active subscribers anyway!
