Samson C01U?

So I was browsing Thomann.de for some USB Mics, and the Samson CO1U for €77 (around €90 w/Postage) caught my eye.

Has anyone used this Mic, and can tell me if it's a good mic, I might get it soon in the next month or 2. :D

Also do you know any other mics? My budget is 100 euros so I don't really want to spend anything over that.

EDIT: My current set-up consists a SM48 which I got for free off a friend who doesn't need it with a mixing desk, reason I need a USB mic is to cut down on all of the cables and equipment.

Audio-Technica AT2020?
The USB version of that is €170 in Thomann, the XLR is 90, and thomann are the only place I can really buy from atm. But I know allot of people on YouTube use it. If I can wait a bit and get more money I might. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Pewds used Samson C01U since last yr. He upgraded to a more professional mic now.

I'm using it too. It's a bit bassy and it only has one pattern. It's a good mic overall.:)

Did he? Damn I never knew that.. xD I saw in his latest videos what I believe to be a AT2020. Never knew he used it. Thanks. :)

Well, he used Razer Carcharias on his first few months on YouTube, when he got partnered and got an apartment for himself. He bought Samsung C01U. up until he got 5million I think?

I use it and I love it. I usually use it for music, but it just plain works for most things. Use it! :D

This has to be the first time I've ever seen someone want to regress from XLR to USB. USB is inferior for a number of reasons. If you're already using a Shure SM48, the logical step is the 58. You will not gain much in quality if any moving from the SM48 to the Samson C01U.

I know the Shure SM4/58 will out preform the Samson, but need to cut down on all this equipment, I know USB is inferior to XLR and using mixing desks, but for a casual gaming commentator like myself it's overkill, and after hearing audio tests from the Samson C01U, it's perfect for my budget and what I plan to use it for. Thanks though. :)[DOUBLEPOST=1378932807,1378932753][/DOUBLEPOST]

The C01U is a great mic to have. I run with a full 12 channel mixer on my desk, but I also have a second mic as well as direct quarter inch jack to my guitar amp, so my gear needs are a bit different. As an alternative, you could swap to shorter cables and something like the M-Audio FastTrack or the various clones out there. Keeps the XLR inputs but avoids the desk space taking mixing board. I used to run something similar and the input just sat happily unnoticed behind my monitors.

Ultimately, you won't regret the C01U but it's more of a side-grade. Something like the AT2020 is a superior upgrade but the price disparity between it's XLR and USB versions is mindboggling.
