First at all you need to understand that your Channel is still at the beginning of it`s Journey and therefor every of your current fears is totally unnecessary. Instead of making yourself freaking out about something that you still can take care of in three Years from now on you should focus on your Content. Build up your Viewerbase, improve your Content, stay in Contact with your Viewers and so on and so on.
You are at no Way loosing anything at all if you join Machinima nowadays and I would even go that far to say that if you are a trying to build up a Gaming Channel with a strong Community Machinima would be one of the Top Three Networks I would reach out to and negotiate a Contract with because I know what I would get from them if the Channel would some day reach a bigger audience on a daily base and I would need some support to keep it growing or even step up to the next Level.
While this is said let`s take a look at what else you wrote:
For God's sake don`t make the mistake to believe that an $4CPM is High! Let`s talk about the topic again when your Channel is actually getting a decent among of Views each Day because by then you will understand how unnecessary every of your current fears were.
Again my advise for you is to stick with the current Contract. Focus on your Content, push yourself each Month so you are willing to go the extra Mile, improve your Skills if it comes to Editing your Video Material and sooner or later you might End where you want to be and don`t even think for a single Moment that you did the wrong think by signing the Contract from Machinima because I have seen a lot of Drama Queens during 2012 and none of those that cried a river on YouTube about how bad Machinima is wanted to push hard enough to increase their Quality...

People will always complain. There are People that complain about Fullscreen, Machinima, RPM, ...and in the longer run they are wasting their time by doing so because at the same time they did complain they could try to improve their Work but nowadays it`s easier to say that it´s someone else fault then my own one and even believing in such b******t.
If you are still unsure reach out to your Machinima Elves and tell them that you want to leave since you are not sure anymore about the hole thing and want to work on your own for a few Months to improve your Channel Stats. They won`t hold you off, why should they....you don`t have yet an decent among of views so they probably will prefer to see how your doing then having you on Board and don`t working 100% because you aren`t sure about Parts of the Contract.
If someone at my Work isn`t 100% into what (s)he is doing I always offer them to leave since it`s useless if someone doesn`t enjoy doing what (s)he does just because of some concern they might have about a Contract.
