Returning to YouTube - New Channel or Build old Channel?

6 months ago I stopped making YouTube videos as I was going forward in life with work and uni. I have missed making videos and decided I will begin again soon. However, my biggest question is should I start a completely brand new channel from scratch or re build up my old account?

I am planning for my return and making videos so if I do get busy I still have content to use. I believe this return I will be much better at the YouTube world due to the dedication and limited time I have to do it.

Thanks in advance for opinions :)

I would start a new one and then get new videos on there, new subscribers, and make it the best channel you possibly can!

I had the same issue a while ago, and I found making a new channel to be the better option - it gave me a lot more drive and willing to do things, and it also gives you the option of starting fresh

If the content you are going to make is similar to the old stuff, definitely stick with the old channel. You can always change the name, just not the URL. This will allow people who are already subscribed there to see the new content, some will leave but you will still have a base to start with. Plus when people see your channel, having a base sub and video number is a helping hand. Of course if the content is very different, like you went from video games to animation sketches, then make a new channel.

I agree with Krozjin, if the video types are similar, consider using the old one, and rebranding yourself. If the videos are in a new direction start fresh.

Its gonna be the same stuff so I was thinking of keeping the old channel and seeing how it goes for a month or two. And if I don't really have many viewers from when I use to upload I might just create a brand new channel. I will just test things out I reckon.[DOUBLEPOST=1430086113,1430086083][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think the fresh start would be great but I may just test out the old channel first.

Using science, eh? Keep us updated to your findings. Figuring out YouTube is an ongoing experiment in and of itself!

I would say do what you feel right and then go from there and if you make a new one go for it and make it the best you can or rebuild your old channel.
