Replying to comments doesn't always work...

Has anyone else had trouble replying to comments lately? I'll have a reply button to a particular comment, so I type out a reply, only to have nothing actually post when I click "Reply." It only happens periodically, but it's a bit frustrating -- especially if I wrote more of an essay than a short comment.... YouTube used to *not* have a reply button if the user had settings that prevented replies from other folks, but now it seems like they've turned it into a guessing game.. =/

Plus, I thought the previous reply issues were related to YouTube being merged with Google Plus's profile settings. I thought this was recently changed by Google, but perhaps there are other settings somewhere else within YouTube creating issues... Does anyone know how to get around the mysterious inability to post a reply issue? (or is it just my YouTube being weird? haha! x_+ )

I've had the same issue several times... I'll click "like" on someone's comment on my video, type a comment, then the Reply button is like NOPE!! Sometimes, I can reload the page, and the "like" is gone, so I can re-like it, redo my comment, and it works fine. But there was one time, no matter what I did, I was never able to reply directly back to someone's question they left in the comments. I think you're right in that it's something to do with Google+ because I've had issues with "linked" comments sometimes... who knows. :D

It's always comforting to know that someone else has ran into this issue, too...xD

I tried the copy - reload page - paste - click reply tactic..but like you said..the site thinks for a bit and then poops out and does nothing! But who knows!?..the poor guy might wake up tomorrow to 7 comments saying the exact same thing because I can't seem to figure out how to properly comment back on YouTube... : p
 
It's a Google+ glitch I think and yeah it's annoying especially when the viewer has taken the time to write a long comment and/or asking a question.

bahh..it's so annoying.. =/ I'm hoping YouTube will reply to my whiny email and/or fix it soon.. ^_^
 
I`ve had the exact same problem sometimes, most of times I just refresh page and re-do whatever I was doing. Usually this fixes it.
 
I had a strange experience the other day too, where I got an email notification of a comment, logged onto YT to read it (and it was a nice long positive comment with a question)... wrote a nice long-winded reply... then the reply button didn't work... and when I reloaded, the comment was completely gone. Not on the video page. Not on the Community Comments page. Never came back. Just gone forever. I doubt they deleted it, because it was a super nice comment. But who knows.

The creator might have deleted their comment (or account..who knows!??), but the timing seems way too odd. Have you checked through your spam messages? I've had comments seemingly disappear like that, only to find that they were marked as spam. ^_^ Is it just me, or has YouTube's spam radar has gotten really sensitive? o0
 
Yep, I checked the spam section and it's just gone. Literally within 5 mintues of posting. Maybe they did delete it.
