Render Settings

The length of the video is a factor as well, 1080p will give you longest render times, and you're at 30fps, and depending on your computer you and I would get different results rendering the same footage, but with those settings I would expect about 20 min render time for a video of about 3-6 mins.

Interesting because it took about 1 hour to render a video that was 3:30 long

These are my current settings:

Properties: Custom (1440x1080, 29.970 fps) with progressive scan

Render Settings: SONY AVC (.mp4, .m2ts, .avc) type
AVCHD 1920x1080-60i template with custom settings
MPEG-2 transport stream blahblah
Best render quality

So I'm not surprised it took a long time, but over an hour? Any tips?

1440x1080? That's an odd size... it 1080p is usually done at 1920x1080, I don't think that has anything to do with render times but I just wanted to point that out.

How much RAM is in your computer? also what is the CPU? If you only have 2-4-6GB of RAM then it makes sense that your render time would be over an hour.

As I was typing this my 2min long vid render just finished in about 5mins, I have 16GBs of RAM, it could also depend on the number of tracks in your timeline.

Hmm I'm trying to remember why I had it at 1440x1080...might be something to do with my camera but it does make more sense to have it at 1920x1080

Anyways, I have 8 GB of RAM :)() and 8 CPUs

Well I guess it's the RAM then, at least I know why it's slow
