Removed the facecam and changed the channel art

Hey YTtalkers!

So I got a lot of change going on in my life lately (new job, first own flat, etc.) and so I thought: "Hey, why not change something on my YouTube channel too?"

First of all I updated the channel art. For comparison:
Old logo: profilepic.png
Old banner (uncropped): banner2.png
New logo:Logo_2014.png
New banner (uncropped): Banner_2014.png

First reason for me was that there were never four people (even though we planned it) and the second one was because it was just sooo dark...and now it's bright and friendly :D


And then I thought: "I should probably abandon the facecam"

Here's why:
  • It takes so much time to add a facecam (I mean in relation and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong here)
  • My video-editing software doesn't really like it
  • I'd rather concentrate on doing a good commentary than on "looking good"
  • people never asked for it

So it just made sense to me and I removed the facecam temporarily.

I have to say I really like the new format and I also think people are going to enjoy my videos much more now and that makes me happy.

What do you think about such "radical" changes? Would you rather launch a new channel than "rebranding" your old one?

This so much. My first and second channel art were garbage honestly, and I still keep making small tweaks to my third currently.
Yeah, you gotta constantly learn to improve or you're gonna fall behind in the Youtube game
 
I feel facecam lets you interact with the audience a lot easier, but honestly it's not necessary for most videos, only really reaction based ones like when playing frustrating / horror games! I hope the changes work out for you!
 
I tweak my branding constantly. My channel has gone through a few different looks over the past year.

I've only just recently settled into my current theme, which somehow ended up revolving around triangles :S

Illuminati!!!!!!!!!!!! *Inception sound*[DOUBLEPOST=1410008925,1410008596][/DOUBLEPOST]I think it is okay to change your channels art as long as your audience is not that big and starts to identify with you and your channel.

Yeah I wouldn't say I have a big following, but I think I've settled with my current look now :)
