If you live somewhere that good Internet isn't available, consider the following:

  • Upload overnight, plan accordingly.
  • Don't do YouTube, you just don't have the necessary resources.
  • Lower your quality to 720p30 if you have to.
  • Do less videos a week if you can't upload due to Internet.

Haha a lot of Australians do YouTube and are very successful so I won't be using that excuse, but yeah cheers man, I always have uploaded overnight, works well.

Remember you can queue multiple videos to upload too! Upload into private, then add annotations and stuff the next day.

I've always wondered about that, does that mean it won't appear in the sub boxes though? Like, say I don't make it public for 7 hours, that means it would be really far down in peoples sub boxes when it's made public?

Not that I have any subs on my new channel, lol.

I've never heard of that happening. I would say go unlisted, then in the morning schedule them out, should be fine.

I would say test it if you want with something though, but I've honestly never heard of that happening. Seems like a completely useless feature if that was the case.

Wow harsh words man, lol!

Not really...

It's like people that use their cell phone in portrait, not even landscape, outside in the wind, do a VLOG, and say "why isn't anyone watching?"

Well, you don't have the resources to produce content people enjoy. To film gameplay, you need a capture card or screen capture software for PC. For vlogs, camera. For all of this, internet to upload. If you don't have the tools, you can't do the job.

Check your exporting bitrate. That makes a huge difference in file size. Also it sounds like you might be using .avi

Like ItsJustJames said us the H.264 for your file type. That's what the standard YouTube format is. Then set your frame rate that you want, check your bitrate.

Honestly you shouldn't have to go over 18. Even 18 is extremely high. That's for like RED cameras or even Television bitrate status. I stick around 20 just because it's not a problem for me but I'm pretty sure 8 - 10 is a good bitrate

I've exported at 150 bitrate and 20 and saw no quality difference. Just changed my over all file size. Experiment with different nitrates for yourself and see what you think looks best.

OVERALL -H.264 compression and 10 - 18 bitrate
Hope this helps.
