Reddit

Think of Reddit like any other forum on the internet. Think of it like a massive YTTalk. Now think what the reaction would be if you barged in here as a newbie and start dropping links to your content all over the place. Like any online community, they take a dim view of people who only use the forums (subreddits) for self-promotion. Their guidelines state that if more than 10% of your posts are links to your own content then you're probably a spammer.

If you want to make it work, you need to take an active part in the community, by posting in discussions and posting links to other things of interest that aren't your own. If you can do that in one or two subs and get your Karma up then it's less likely that your own links will be received with as much hostility.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. This is all correct, there was a similar discussion the other day in a different thread.

Now, the interesting thing about your content is that with a little tweaking it could appeal more to non-yoga people (males primarily) in the right subreddits. You've certainly already touched on that aspect in a couple of your videos. Some might consider adding a little sex appeal to this kind of informational channel 'selling out' but hey, use it if you got it. I've followed a similar formula with two channels and have garnered many millions of views. Sex sells. And you still might educate people along the way to your way of doing things.

Participation in the community is still of paramount importance, though. Be that cool, cute, yoga chick that people will come to know. All it takes is a few interactions per day and you can develop a following on multiple subreddits. If you're active, they won't see it as self promotion, at least not as much. Good luck with your channel!
