RecStudios.tv SCAM - Watch Out!

Just to add my input, it looks like you were contacted by a sub network under Rec Studios and they may not be aware of the terms of your agreement. I looked at that website you said was in her signature and it seems to be a sub network under Rec Studios. If it is no lock in I'd expect Rec Studios to unlink you after 30 days
 
Looks like our very professional MCN owner Mr Kamran Sankey is up to is old tricks again quick check on the whois records show he is the owner of the domain name :(

How many MCN has this guy started or how many he runs iv lost count looks to be a busy boy these days from his time at YouTube in LA shame he lacks the skill needed to run a MCN with any type of professionalism.

Looks like his only active UK Ltd company is "Bsv Media Limited" and the office address in a area that is not far from me this guy really needs to get out of this game doing more harm then good.

Although I have my own opinions on Kamran, this has nothing to do with him.. Kamran runs Illuminata which is an MCN incubator program. What this means is that if a sub network reached 30,000,000 views per month he will help the sub network become an MCN.

With all the MCNs he helps set up they can optionally choose for him to set up a website (which is why it can be linked to him) but at the end of the day Rec Studios has nothing to do with him in terms of the operation of the MCN.

Before you start pointing fingers at people let me explain what the situation is:

The channel was recruited by a sub network (under Rec Studios). This means the sub network uses Rec Studios CMS to partner your channel. They are essentially a middle man between the MCN (Rec Studios) and the channel. They basically recruit channels and send out invitation messages. Rec Studios is un aware of the terms that the sub network sets because it can be a case by case basis for thousands of channels they work with..

Leave it 30 days because Rec Studios will directly get a notification in their Content Manager asking to release your channel. (This will be the FIRST time Rec Studios has heard about your channel) then they can act on that...

So to summaries, just wait 30 days like YouTube says.. then take any action needed. Dont point fingers at Kamran.. its basically like you are pointing a finger to the CEO of Google if a video doesn't load on YouTube... there is no real connection and YouTube should have a team to solve that if it is a real problem..

I can verify that he has something to do with each company though I couldnt tell you what.. So there is no chance it is a random stranger coincidentally called Kamran Sankey.. :)
 
Thanks for all the info! wow - Okay I will leave it for 30 days and see if they unlink me. I actually got in contact with the person who invited me on Skype now! She's not that helpful, but she said she will look into it... hmmm - anyways. I will keep you people updated! (if you are interested) ;)
 
What @RobertLangdon said. Kamran isn't to blame on this. Sadly your only recourse here is the contract you signed. If they don't follow it, you could seek legal action, but other than that there sadly isn't much you can do other than get in contact with the people who own the network.

Anywho, people are still crying 'scam' in 2015? Geez. Not to be rude but unless they're stealing your money, it's not what I'd consider a scam, it's more unfaithful. I think it's a bit naive to trust a recruiter, only trust what you see on paper (in a contract).
 
Hi Gabriel, yes they are actually stealing money - once you link them, you get access to a so called dashboard, - then your channel gets linked to their Adsense or something similar - a few hours later you loose access to the "dashboard" - and then they start cashing in... SCAM
