Recording without anyone hearing me?

Buy some quilts (that go in you bed sheets) and attach them along them all around the sides of the room. this actually works as i have a freind who has a music room and one of the walls was never sound proofed, so he just did that

I back this up... heavy blankets will reduce sound quite a lot.

Bes tthing to do is go and spend money on a good mic, it will reduce background noise, as for family hearing you and stuff the only thing you can do is record while they're gone, even soundproofing a room would still allow them to hear you slightly.

Well the better solution would be to you to man up and record out loud when your parents are at home !

NOBODY would want to watch a shy guy whispering in his bedroom because mommy could ear him !

Stop trying to find weird solution to a problem that doesn't exist !

What is the common factor between all the great youtuber ?
Yeah
, you've got it ! Theay are ALL shameless ! I will let you think about it ;)

Hey guys! When I started YouTube my intial plan was to upload daily.
I can record every single day except, I usually record when my family
is out to reduce background noise and because I do swear in my videos
from time to time and my humor isn't exactly "PG". Also, I'm quite
uncomfortable recording while day can hear me. I live in a small appartment
with only one bedroom. SO HERE'S MY QUESTION. Does anyone know a way
I can somewhat sound proof my voice? Or even the room? Im not looking
to spend any money, just using household materials. I also have a closet but it's
filled with clothes. I think I'm going to have to record in the bedroom. Any advice or
Tips on soundproofing my voice would be a major help! Thanks!

EDIT: I Was thinking of putting chairs around me and covering them with blankets? Including the roof?

CREATE A LAVALIER MICROPHONE OUT OF A OLD HEADSET.

I record usually my sound separately from my video camera.
I use a recording app on my iphone and then record trough my headset, which works like a 'lavalier microphone"

EDITING THE SOUND ON TO YOUR VIDEO.

When i put my footage into sony vegas, i then turn down the video sound to zero.
Then i take my recorded sound from my iphone and line it up, so that the timing in the sound is right with the movements of my lips.

A great way of finding out where the sound matches your footage, is to clap when you start filming and recording.

Then match the clap sound from the sound recording, with the clap movements in the footage.

Humm... You can pretend that you have schizophrenia and create these imaginary characters and talk to them. Then you'll family will find it normal that you talk to yourself when you are in your room and there you go!

Jkjk

What I do is that I have told my sister and brother that I make videos so is my mum asks who I am talking to I'll say myself or I'm on the phone or to my sister and brother.
Sometimes I record my face or voice when my mum is out or sleeping.

So you can try that. Record when everyone is out. Act as if you have some sort of a cold so you should stay home.
