Recording Software

Aye he said camera, PVR ain't any use for what he wants! I use a Sanyo Xacti SH-1, full 1080p recording however only useful in bright, preferably natural light and you really require an external microphone to record separately on a laptop / netbook for crisp audio, but if you're okay with all of that then you're looking at £200 max spend! Save the pennies to fund the film etc!
Ok thanks for the reply :) $200 sounds awesome, but i bet there is something in between 200 and 800 where i can film inside. I'll check out Sanyo one though ;)

Well, it depends on what you can do with the footage. I sometimes use an IPhone and then use colour correction. But with $800 i would seriously recommend buying a full HD camera, a stable tri-pod for good firm footage and a seperate hard drive for your computer so it doesn't get clogged up with video. That's all i would say.
Yes, full HD is really what i want! I tried filming with my dad's Nikon D800 and it was awesome! Ofcourse i know i wont get that good of a camera with $800, somewhere near atleast :p Thanks for the advice!

If you are looking at camcorders, check out the Canon Vixia HF G10. It's due to be replaced this month and is their top of the line prosumer camcorder. Expect prices to drop below $800. Also consider buying a refurb direct from Canon. They are currently $750 and will probably drop as soon as the G20 hits the market.
