Hi, I'm thinking about making some short films on my channel, but i don't have a camera. I'm thinking about getting one soon. My budget is around $800. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good full hd video camera? Is $800 enough? Please answer down below if you know :)

I think you mean hd video recorder. I recomend "El Gato" ,it's one of the most elite devices you can buy to record, and you have enough cash for it. Just google elgato hdpvr.

I dont think he wants a capture card/HDPVR i think he wants a camcorder.

I would look around at DSLRs as they are great for video. Maybe look at getting a second hand Rebel T3i or something along those lines? Just browse the Canon Website as i personally think their DSLRs are great!

Aye he said camera, PVR ain't any use for what he wants! I use a Sanyo Xacti SH-1, full 1080p recording however only useful in bright, preferably natural light and you really require an external microphone to record separately on a laptop / netbook for crisp audio, but if you're okay with all of that then you're looking at £200 max spend! Save the pennies to fund the film etc!

Well, it depends on what you can do with the footage. I sometimes use an IPhone and then use colour correction. But with $800 i would seriously recommend buying a full HD camera, a stable tri-pod for good firm footage and a seperate hard drive for your computer so it doesn't get clogged up with video. That's all i would say.

Tripod is a great shout, I only have a desktop tripod and it really limits the things I can create, if you can find a decent sized one it'll greatly improve your chances of making quality viewing material!

Ok thanks! I will look it up and compare to the other suggestions :)
