Recording Skype

I am currently trying to find people to collab with and that being said I will probably use Skype to record their voice(s).

My problem is that I do not know how to record Skype audio separate from my desktop audio. I use OBS to record my gameplay and that works great but I need the game audio at a certain level so that it's not overpowering my voice audio.

Can someone help me figure this out? Do I need to download some other software? I have the Adobe Creative Cloud currently as well as OBS.

I've found that Skype doesn't really work well when you have multiple people in the call. It usually cuts others off mid sentence mostly caused by the low bitrate. I would suggest TeamSpeak, because it has a built in bit rate feature, and you can record calls straight from the program.

+1 for Teamspeak. It's a bit more complicated to set up than Skype (you need to host your own server if you want to do it for free), but the quality is bounds above Skype, and it generally has less connection problems (less "robot mode").
It can record the whole group to a .wav file from within the program, and it has numerous other sound settings that can improve the quality of a group call.

I figured out how to do it with Razer Surround and OBS. I used Razor surround to duplicate the driver for my headphones. Then I switched the Skype playback device to my normal driver for the headphones and added the duplicate driver as a individual audio source in OBS.

Try Virtual Cable and Voicemeeter. A little harder to setup, but once you do it it is super handy and easy to use :)
