Recording Settings Used By Gamers

Problem with Fraps for me was that setting a certain recording frame rate dropped the playing framerate to about the same, so if i set to record at 60, my screen would be displaying 60. I just switched to Dxtory and with that i can record at 30FPS, and see on my screen about 120 FPS from BF3

A common fix for that is under the FPS tab in Fraps, make sure that Benchmark Settings has FPS checked. That seemed to have solved the problem for me.

I actually now prefer Dxtory for my recordings, the main thing that i like is that each recording is only 1 file, so i dont end up with 20 different files just for one game, it makes it much easier to keep track of multiple games and less hassle when trying to find that specific game that i want.

I tried Dxtory once, and a variation of settings & codex, but for some reason I kept getting laggy videos. It could of been because I used a trial version, but if that's the case than they wouldn't be giving potential customers a good view of the program

Yea i had no clue about the best set up so i just watched Jack Frags' set up for Dxtory and it works like a charm, like i said the biggest pro for it is that its only one file per recording.

I use 30 FPS since my capture card restricts me to 30 FPS but I record at a bit rate of 20,000kbps and export videos at 8-10,000kbps to try and compensate for the compression once a video is uploaded.
