Recording Settings Used By Gamers

I've Got It
Ok so we all know for the most part YouTube sets videos in at 30 fps once they are uploaded, and I've always had fraps set at 30 fps because I never thought much of it. Recently I saw somewhere that even though YouTube reduces videos to 30 fps, videos shot at and rendered at a higher fps come out with a little more quality. My question is how do you set your fps for recording & rendering gameplay, and do you notice a difference?

I record at 120 FPS when I play multiplayer and 30 when I play singleplayer .
Why this ?
Because the multiplayer footage is going to end in a montage where the more FPS you have , better is .
When it comes to SP , 30 is enough .

I set my FPS to 40, because if I put it higher my computer wants to kill itself. But yes, recording the game at a higher frames per second makes the video smoother-looking. If you can bump your FPS up from 30, I recommend you do.

I record in 60fps. I doubt the quality is better on YouTube. But files are bigger and it heavy on your system to record in 60fps.

If you don't have the power it might actually be worse for you to record a higher frame rate..

If you set your framerate to 3,000,000 and it's reduced to 30, it doesn't matter; it's reduced to 30. Your best bet is to keep your framerate at 30 and push your graphics as far as they can while still keeping a good framerate during recording. That will help keep your video sizes a bit smaller though they will be bigger for using stronger graphics.

I always try to record at 60, and ya there is a slight improvement with higher fps on YouTube even though it scales down.

Great responses, when I did a search on the topic it came back as a 50/50 split. For my next videos I'll use fraps benchmark to gauge gameplay fps (at proper times) and then scale it accordingly.
