Recording in 60fps now, for later

United we stand. Divided we fall.
Hi all,

I was thinking, seeing as YouTube is due to support 48fps & 60fps, would recording and uploading gameplay in 60fps now make it "ready" for later? Or not?

That is all, thanks in advance :D

How long until YouTube allows 60fps? would the video be old and dated by then? I know personally for myself, my videos are improving all the time, different styles / layouts and such. I don't think its worth it personally, worry about it when it comes.

Thanks for the reply :D
I'm not sure about the time, I've seen mixed views in different blogs. I don't think the video will be old and dated by the time it is out. I guess I'll just wait until it's officially here, until then, 29.97 it is :D

I'm sure YouTube will announce it closer to the time, and it will become more common knowledge, I think you will have plenty of time to get a good decent video ready, Or if you wanna get one ready for upload, just do a quick montage / clip video.

OR!!!!!

Record in 60fps, but edit and upload in 30? I dont know if thats possible though? not too clued up on it to be fair....... would that make the video quality drop alot?

I don't think that you should put more effort just for 60 fps ... All videos above 25 fps look fluid, therefore there is really no reason to upgrade. Of course, seeing a film in the cinemas in 48 fps is different, but I don't think that downloading 3 times more code doesn't pay out...

I'm used to seeing 60fps way more than 30 hence why I'd much rather watch 60fps footage, yeah 30 fps looks fluid, but double is crazy. Besides, I wouldn't mind making 60fps videos.

Since the start i upload gaming video's i always recorded at 720p 60fps and rendered in 60fps. I think all the extra rendering hours will pay off after all:)

It wouldn't hurt. If you are already recording at 60fps then rendering would take a little longer than 30fps but the end product would look much better.

Once you upload it to YouTube, your UPLOADED video will remain 30 fps even if they change the settings for YouTube to have 60fps. The video on your desktop will stay as 60 fps and you can re-upload it. That's the only way.
