Recording Apps

So I want to review iPhone apps for my channel, but I don't know how to record it without all the black bars on the side. I know how to record the screen itself though. Anyone got at any suggestions on what to do with the extra space on the sides of the video. Thanks!

Wait what?
Are you talking about your screen resolution, how it sometimes looks like this? (this is just an example, not a tutorial)
the black bars on the sides, are you talking about those black bars on the sides in the youtube video format display?
If so, it means you have a monitor that doesn't have a suitable widescreen length. Making your screen capture video looking square, thus making it look like that. There are ways to solve this: One, buy a HD widescreen monitor to make your screen capturing life easier. Two, go to your screen display settings and change the resolution if your computer can provide that. And Three, screen capture the video and stretch the width of it making it to fit the widescreen size (but it looks funny, in my opinion).

idk if thats the answer you are looking for, cause I took a quick look at your channel and your videos seem to be okay and not having a problem like that at all.

Sorry I will add that now. I meant like an iPhone App. Like I can record the screen but once I record the screen and try to render it, I will have big black bars on the sides.

Look this up on youtube. Its essentially the same thing as what you showed.

Oh okay, never tried it but I did found this... hopefully this helps.

Have you considered filming the actual phone in your hand? With the right framing and lighting that might look quite nice, and it would give the audience more of a feel of what its like to use that app.

The most common thing is to replace the black with an extremely enlarged / blurred version of the screen itself. Just to have something there, and it looks much better. You can see it pewdiepie's video. Go on his channel and search "Flappy Bird". It maybe a game, but it still a phone recording vertically.

Yes I have considered that Alvey, but I just don't have the equipment to do that yet (camera). I could go to my friends house to record it, but that would be a hassle to keep doing that. Thanks Krozjin! That's exactly what I am going to do! :)
