Recording Acoustic Guitar?

I use the output on my electric acoustic and mic it at the same time. I then run both of those signals into my M-Audio Fast Track. With the preamp, I set the tone to be slightly warmer, as the SM57 has a relatively bright sound. I then pan the two signals about 20% to the right and left. Seems to work well for me!

I use Garageband to edit my audio and for effects I use Guitar Rig 5.

I personally use Logic Pro 9 as my DAW. A M-Audio Fasttrack as my interface. My mic is a CAD GXL 1200, which is a pencil/instrument condenser mic. I plug it into the XLR input on the Fasttrack (with phantom power). I mic it around the 12th fret, around 2-4 inches from the fretboard. I turn myself at a slight angle to reduce pick noises.
