Hi, as the title says I was wondering if anyone has any recommended software for 2D animation, thanks

I generally hear that most big animators on youtube use programs like Flash or ToonBoom when they make their videos. What kind of videos are you looking to make?

I love Macromedia Flash 8.

It's a bit old (over ten years now Jesus lord) but I love it so much.

ToonBoom is also a great tool but I could never get into it since I have used Flash for so long lol

You could probably get away with using a normal video editor if the animations are simple enough (like mine just swap from frame to frame), I used Corel video studio x9 to make my video since it's got a free 30 day trial, it's pretty handy if you know how to use it for little tricks

No problem! If you want to know any little tricks I use or anything, just let me know! I'll be here (or I guess working on my next video... Or out in the real world... Or something, haha)

Adobe Animate CC is pretty good. Or as suggested here

you could use Macromedia Flash. Which is the old version of Adobe Animate CC.

I think adobe flash cs3 is free to download somewhere too, which I think is newer

I recommend Flash ( pretty much any version ). It costs money, but if you know where to look, you can find it for free.
