I see a lot of posts about tags. They aren't important.
They aren't UN-important either, but they will not make or break your video. After about 48 hours, the tags lose their value, and watch time, engagement, etc take over. Driving yourself nuts trying to figure out the perfect tags, without a good title, thumbnail and I suppose description, tags are kind of meaningless as far as the big picture.
I do sometimes use Google Trends for keywords, or just search what people are searching on YouTube in the auto-generate part.
If you have your title and thumbnail (and good content!) in order, the tags are just going to help the optimization along in the beginning a bit.
