Reaction Videos?

Can someone let me know what they feel about reaction channels and if you have never done one would you ever consider it since it is so popular and could probably make all of our channels blow up haha

I think some reaction channels are absolutely brilliant. It can be so much fun to see other people have an opinion on something that either matches yours or may be completely opposite. However; some react channels forget to 'react' in their videos, if you know what I mean. Just posting your webcam over someone elses video is, in my eyes, not creative, abuse of copyright law and most of all; not entertaining.

I think that it is very likely that at some point me and my partner do a react video. However, I do not see it very likely that we will make a video solely about reacting to another video/channel. It would probably be just a small segment of something bigger.

I agree about the blowing up tho; react videos, if done correctly, can be a very easy way to grow a channel.
 
Yeah this is a very fine niche. It can be hard because I think so many people are doing it now, you would need to be doing something different or reacting differently to each and every video. It would be hard to break into I reckon, unless like I'm saying there you come up with reacting to something that hasn't been done before or reacting in a way that would make people laugh. Although they certainly are entertaining videos, so I wish you all the best for the future!

It depends, I'd say about 98% of "reaction" YouTubers only get views because of the title of the video they are reacting to and they don't do anything. I think the ones where something really gross or bizarre happens and random people have genuine reactions of disgust, but the ones where they just sit there p**s me off.
 
Reaction channels often get little respect because the "reaction" aspect is often just a pretext for stealing someone's original content and then "reacting" to it in order to try and claim it's "fair use". (debatable)

I can watch someone play a sport because scoring a touchdown or dunking is something I can't do and is interesting to see. But watching someone watch that instead of just watching it myself? I'll never get.
 
It went well for me. My first reaction was the Try Not to Cry Challenge while reacting to sad commercials and it surprisingly is my top hit apparently lol it got to 32K views. It depends on which video- probably a viral, new trending video would get the most attention. But, my channel has not blown up yet.. my other new reaction videos do not get any views near that!
 
Some of them can pretty damn funny...some others are not funny at all but they get a ton of views, they either make reaction videos for the viewers or they make them to try and get viral or something
